The Spunkiverse
Resonance
Before the Patchwork.
Before the Spunkis.
Before reality had decided what it wanted to be...
There was the Resonance.
The Resonance is the original field from which everything in the Spunkiverse emerged — an infinite state where sound, thought, energy, memory, emotion and possibility exist together.
Nothing within it is truly separate.
Every idea. Every forgotten memory. Every strange possibility that could exist resonates somewhere within it.
From this endless field, reality began to take shape.
But possibility does not like staying still.
Within the Resonance, Chaos drives possibility towards change, creation and becoming, while Static pulls in the opposite direction — towards stability, uniformity and permanence.
The tension between them shapes the Spunkiverse.
It creates worlds.
Fractures realities.
Stitches together the impossible landscape known as the Patchwork.
And sometimes, when the conditions are just right, something entirely new is spawned.
A Spunki.
Every Spunki carries Resonance within them. It connects them to the Patchwork, to one another, and to something far older than any of them fully understand.
The Resonance is not a place.
It is not a being.
It is the field beneath everything.
The Spunkiverse exists within it.
And it is still Resonating.
Chaos
Chaos is the Force of Becoming.
It is the part of the Spunkiverse that refuses to remain exactly as it is.
Where the Resonance holds every possibility, Chaos pushes those possibilities towards change.
It is motion.
Transformation.
Unpredictability.
The moment when what could be begins to become what is.
Chaos does not follow a plan.
It bends paths, disrupts patterns and creates opportunities for the unexpected to exist.
Without Chaos, possibility would remain only possibility.
Nothing would evolve.
Nothing would surprise you.
And nothing new would ever be spawned.
But Chaos is not simply destruction, and it is not evil.
Sometimes Chaos creates the mistake that becomes something brilliant.
Sometimes it sends you somewhere you never intended to go.
Sometimes the wrong turn is exactly where the story was waiting.
Throughout the Patchwork, Chaos constantly pulls reality towards change, difference and becoming.
Its opposing force is Static — the influence that seeks stability, permanence and order.
Neither can completely erase the other.
And somewhere between them...
the Spunkiverse keeps becoming something new.
Chaos doesn't know where it's going.
That's kind of the point.
Static
Static is the Force of Stability.
Where Chaos pushes reality towards change, Static pulls it towards permanence.
It is order.
Structure.
Predictability.
The force that allows something to remain what it is.
Without Static, reality would never hold its shape.
Worlds would shift endlessly.
Patterns would never settle.
Nothing would stay still long enough to become familiar.
Static gives the Spunkiverse structure.
But stability has a limit.
When Static becomes too strong, it stops preserving reality...
and begins removing everything that makes it different.
Change disappears.
Possibility narrows.
Uniqueness fades.
Until eventually, there is nothing left to change at all.
This is known as Erasure.
Static is not evil.
Without it, the Patchwork would dissolve into endless becoming.
But too much stability can be just as dangerous as too much Chaos.
Across the Spunkiverse, the two forces remain locked in an ancient tension:
Chaos pulls everything towards what it could become.
Static holds everything to what it already is.
And somewhere between them...
life gets interesting.
Because nothing should stay the same forever.
